Be Empowered for Life!

You are beautiful, bright and brilliant! You have purpose, potential and a plan. Only believe in yourself and you shall have what you say. You have the power of death and life in your words. Use your positive words to create the type of environment whereby you can be empowered, encouraged and energized.

It has been my experience that the more one is surrounded by positive people, doing positive things in life; the more uplifted you become to pursue your dreams. You absolutely cannot soar like an eagle if you are surrounded by chickens! Like attracts like.

Be encouraged TODAY to make a commitment to SOAR like an eagle. If you were to watch and study an eagle, this animal is very focused and determined when searching for prey. This animal has an unflenching desire once the object of his appetite is in view. Be like the eagle! Lay aside every weight, every hindrance that is keeping you from your goal and from excelling in greatness. The choice is YOURS!

Believe me when I say this: There is someone, somewhere in the world, maybe next door to you, sitting next to you or thousands of miles away, but there is a one or maybe millions that is in desperate need of the blessed gift that has been placed on the inside of you to go, grow and fulfill the destiny of your path in life.  Do you know that there is a plan for your life? The plan began in your mothers' womb (Psalm 139)! The mere fact that your eyes are focused enough to read this blog is evidence that there is a plan for your life!

The Selah Moment:
What is your passion? What warms your heart?  What is hindering you from pressing forward?

Action Steps:
Pursue your passion, lay aside those hindrances, take a step of faith, be prayerful, surround yourself with positive people and stay focused on your goals.

Getting it Twisted!

I am sure you've heard this phrase from the new generation of people rising up in our world today. "To twist something means to distort the meaning or form of, to pervert"  When dealing with life issues, we can tend to twist some things up a bit. We blame others for things that they have nothing to do with and do not even know about. We pull them into our issues and begin to speak to them out of our own hurt and pain. We begin to see things through eyes of offense, anger and strife. We cannot see clearly enough to discern when someone is being nice to us, loving on us and caring for us. Our pain runs so deep that even the smidget of hope don't last because we can't see past the pain.

We fail to see that there are people that care about us, want the best for us, love us, want us to survive and thrive in this life. Some have been hurt in life to the point of distrusting everyone that comes their way, even if that person means no harm, he or she will never get the opportunity to show love.

When a heart is closed, when a mind is narrow, When trust is absent, When darkness hovers and when pain endures. You have a decision to make!  "Don't get it twisted!"

Either you are going to let go of your past or stay stuck and meander in the shadows of what could, would or should be. You have a decision to make!

Either you are going to rise up out of your bed of hopelessness and see the light that shines forth just for you. You have a decision to make!

Choose this day to get up. You've been here, at this place, long enough. It is not your lot in life to be pittiful, sorry, anger, hopeless, bitter, mad, irritated, frustrated and that If it ain't one thing it is another mentality! It is not your lot in life!

You have a decision to make, so....make it and I hope that you choose the way of love, the way of hope, the way of peace and the way of everlasting joy. Open the door....

SPEAK UP AND EMBRACE YOURSELF

Many people do not share how they really feel because they do not want to hurt someone or cause problems. They rather live the kind of passive life that even if they are bothered, they rather not say anything and are content with being silently frustrated. There is power and strength in speaking out about those things that bother us. When one does not speak up, people will treat him or her any kind of way.

It is important to teach other how to treat us, otherwise, we cannot complain about what we allow. When one has low self esteem, he or she tends to think that their opinions and thoughts do not matter to anyone or that no one cares about their well bring. He or she rejects their own existence and impact. In most cases, that is not based on truth but assumption. Low self esteem can be turned into a true acceptance of self. We must get to the point where we believe so much in ourselves that we know that our opinions and our thoughts count, whether it is well-liked or not. We must understand and truly know that we can make a positive impact and contribution to society. Once we get to this point, there is no stopping what we can accomplish. It all starts with what you believe about yourself.

Are you grieving over the loss of a loved one?

Are you grieving over the loss of a loved one? I understand your pain. It is very normal for you to feel hurt, disappointment and grief over a loved ones' life being taken away so soon.  Many have had this experience and if they tell you the truth, it still hurts. I cannot tell you that it will go away today, tomorrow or a year from now. But what I will say to you is--FEEL WHAT YOU FEEL. Cry, let it out. Whatever you have to do. Think about your loved one. He or She would want you to move on, live your life, right? I know he or she would. So, do just that. Make him or her proud. You are not honoring the persons' memory by moping and withdrawing from others. Live your life again and honor him or her by being the very best person you can possibly be. Do those things that he or she may not have had an opportunity to do----tell people how you feel about them when you feel it, meet new people, accomplish your goals, be an inspiration to others and most of all---DON'T WASTE TIME. Do it today, don't wait.

You have so much to live for and by honoring the life of your loved one with you living yours to the fullest is the BEST thing that you can do. Do not allow fear, guilt or pain to keep you from honoring the life by living yours. If you were very close, I am sure that you both talked about your futures and what you want out of life. Although your loved ones' life may have been cut short----you still move forth and if it makes sense accomplish the goals for the both of you! Now, that is honoring your the life of your loved one and that will make him or her very proud.  Do not ever let anyone tell you not to cry or feel your pain because it does not help to internalize pain. Allow your grief to strengthen you and the memory of your loved one be the wind beneath your wings of life!

Because of One

Because of one person, many are willing to throw away the future of a beautiful life destined for greatness. Because of one person, many are willing to turn the back on a budding relationship that is full of great promises. Because of one person, many are terrified of starting anew, accepting the possiblity as actual that the new will become of the same detriment. Because of one person, many have not moved forward, stretched minds, reached out or stopped to think about what could be rather than what happened "last time". The "one person" has too much power! Stop giving that one person all of your power. May I encourage you today to learn from your experience with that "one person" but do not allow it to overtake you to the point of you not wanting to live, not wanting to give love or friendship another chance, not wanting to smell the roses and not wanting to move forward with your life. It is a moment in time in your life and if you will allow the experience to be the "moment in time" then I promise you that once you grasp hold of what is available to you in your future and how bright your future is, You will love again! It all starts with taking your power back from that "one person".

YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK YOU ARE

Job of the bible said it best, " The very thing that I fear has come upon me." Isn't it interesting how we can create horrifying outcomes of the situation of our lives and literally drum up a tragedy upon ourselves? Our mind is the most powerful tool that we have. What we think about life will be evident in how we act or respond to others. What you think about yourself will be evident in how you treat yourself and others. Whatever the mind thinks, the body will follow so it is important that we think good thoughts.
